Passion - Our CEO's story
Why I need to do this
pRxEngage didn’t come from some business plan or market research. It came from a place of deep sadness.
When I was 11 years old, I lost my best friend Sylvester to Sickle Cell Disease. It was brutal. Back then, there wasn’t much anyone could do, and watching him go through that… it just broke me.
Sylvester was always laughing, always the life of the party. He should have had his whole life ahead of him. Seeing his family at the funeral, the pain in their eyes… I knew this was not right, but I did not yet know that I would make it my life’s work to limit that feeling where I could. I didn’t want anyone else to feel that kind of loss, that sense of helplessness.
I come from a family of doctors. My grandpa was one of the best GPs you’d ever meet. He dedicated his life to helping people, and that always inspired me. Even though I didn’t become a doctor myself, I knew I wanted to make a difference in healthcare.
So I went into research, and I’ve spent my career working to develop new treatments. I believe that new medicines can give people hope, a chance at a life they might not have otherwise had. That’s what drives me.
